For Romanian banks whose solvency report approaches the minimum 8 percent limit, aggressive policies to gain or consolidate market share depend on an increase in funds, through new social capital from shareholders.
In the absence of serious turbulence and liquidity problems, the continuation of an increase in non-governmental loans will persist in driving down the solvency indicator. BNR representatives say solvency will not be a problem.
