Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Radu Berceanu, who accompanied the prime minister, said that the new legislative framework will allow authorities to overcome the obstacles which owners of homes and land which cross the highways place in the way of developing large investment works.
Of the total value of works of RON 410 million (some €99 mln, computed at a RON 4.156/€1 exchange rate), about RON 322 mln (some €77 mln) have been paid to date. To cover the remaining amount, the Ministry of Transportation could access European funds.
On the other hand, the prime minister said that the government will assess the impact of the lump-sum tax on companies and make a decision regarding whether or not it will be maintained, depending on the evolution of the economy. Boc stressed that the new tax was conceived as a measure to counter fiscal evasion.
