Tailwind Securities had one of the most significant advances, of 16 places, after carrying out the Rompetrol Group initial public offering. Among the most important transactions handled by KBC were those with Impact media trust and Petrom oil company shares.
KBC transactions make up 11.7 percent of total. The list of top brokerage firms remained virtually unchanged compared to the same time last year, but the traded value dropped by half, due to the evolution of the stock exchange, strongly affected by corrections. September brought some of the highest drops in history. Main indexes lost over 20 percent. The BET index of the ten most liquid companies lost some 55 percent this year, while the BET-FI index of the five financial investment companies lost a staggering 70 percent.
