Boom TV to sell controlling interest to Israeli companies

Sources on the local market told Business Standard that such negotiations are underway, and are due to be finalized in two weeks. DTH Television Grup said that Boom is a company that attracted and is still attracting investors from both Romania and abroad.

“For the time being, we are focusing on strengthening our competitive edge, on increasing the number of clients, and making our operations more efficient. (...) Any relevant information regarding the company will be made public,” DTH Television President, Amit Levin, said.

Earlier this year, company officials said they are interested in attracting investors into the business, while rumors on the market had it that Boom could be taken over by Romtelecom, the country’s largest landline services operator. Boom TV is one of the top digital television networks on the local market, with more than 200,000 clients.

Market sources say that the company needs to attract capital as clients are reducing the services acquisition ratio, and funds are needed for investments in a sports television, Boom Sport Two.

DTH Television Grup posted net losses worth €29 million in 2007 and turnover amounting to €4.8 million.
