For 2009, Bosanceanu expects Constanta Shipyard to register a 25 percent annual increase in business, up to some €200 million. “We have firm contracts until 2012, and the programs are financed until the second quarter of 2010,” said Bosanceanu.
“In 2009, 2010, 2011, we will face a difficult situation, For 2010 I anticipate a drop by at least 50 percent in new construction programs,” the businessman said.
The annual value of the Romanian shipyard market amounts to some €700-800 million, and its main players are Constanta Shipyard, the Korean STX Europe group, Damen Galati, Severnav Turnu Severin, and Orsova Shipyard.
