Sales on the domestic market totaled RON 7.32 mln (€2.11 mln) in the January-September period, according to the company's financial report posted on the Rasdaq electronic section of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB). Losses registered by Braiconf dropped by one third, to some RON 520,000 (€150,000), and the producer plans to end the year with profit.
According to company officials, investments in opening a store chain and expanding the product range have diminished losses brought on by the appreciation of the leu. Braiconf has stores in large cities such as Bucharest, Timisoara, Iasi, Cluj, and Brasov.
Braiconf registered revenue worth RON 37.36 mln (€10.7 mln) in the first nine months of 2007, a 1.88 percent annual increase, while spending amounted to RON 37.88 mln (€10.9 mln). The company's net sales fell 5.6 percent in 2006, to RON 45.5 mln (€13 mln).
The textile producer sells its products on markets in Great Britain, France, Italy, Germany, and the Netherlands. It has signed contracts with companies such as T.M. Lewin, Benetton, Marella, Manifature del Nord, ECCE, Oliver Grant, Agatex, Valentino, and Faconable.
