BRD Securities to operate on the LSE

The brokerage company is preparing the launch of a new service - trading on foreign markets - in the last quarter of 2007, to be able to offer structured products to its clients later on. “We will trade on the Western European markets: London, Paris, Frankfurt, and Zurich,” Fumea said. The BRD Securities service will address pension funds, insurance companies, and mutual funds. “As long as there are no opportunities or alternatives in Romania, local clients will consider investments on foreign markets as well,” the general manager explained .

Foreign markets allow Romanian financial groups to invest on profitable market segments, which are in full development process, such as IT, utilities, telecom, currently not available on the Romanian market. “These markets have more attractive titles since they have shares of large companies, blue-chips operating in attractive sectors,” Fumea added. Four brokerage companies are currently providing this kind of service in Romania: Estinvest, Delta Stock, Vanguard, and WBS Holding.
