"We plan to continue our acquisition process begun in 2007, develop new vertical business lines, increase personnel by 10-20 percent, and raise the number of partnerships," said the company's Business Software Manager, Mircea Hotaran.
Earlier this year, the company took over Sibiu-based software producer Promedia, for €1 mln. By the end of the year, Brinel plans investments totaling €2 mln. “For 2008, we have an acquisition budget worth €1.5-3 million. We are interested in purchasing software and service companies, within the applications and hardware infrastructure segment,” Brinel's President, Marcel Borodi, said. He added that the company is negotiating the takeover of a company, and that talks will be finalized by 31 March.
Borodi said there are possibilities of association with an investment fund or an IT company to further develop Brinel, but that it is unlikely that such a move will be finalized in 2008.
Brinel is assembling computers under its own brand, Alpis, distributes IT components, and is implementing business solutions and IT services. It serves more than 500 clients through offices in Bucharest and several major cities.
