British Airways expecting the annual increase of passengers to exceed 15%
“We noticed a significant increase in Romania in the past three years, based on efforts to offer attractive fares to our clients,” according to a statement to Business Standard by the Commercial Director of the company’s local branch, Emil Delibashev.

BA recently introduced a one-way ticket to London at €79 (excluding taxes), a fare similar to that offered by low-cost operators, who do not offer the same services as regular airlines. The company is also presently considering operations in Transylvania.

There has been a substantial increase of some 50 percent in the number of Premium, Club World and First Class tickets sold, according to the BA official. Market sources have indicated that Hong Kong airline, Cathay Pacific, might be interested in operations in Romania.

British Airways operates two daily flights between Bucharest and London, and its competitors are Compania Nationala Tarom, Air France-KLM, Lufthansa, Swiss, Alitalia, and Delta Airlines. The British company is classified as third in terms of top European airlines, after Air France-KLM and Lufthansa, according to the Association of European Airlines.
