While the activity of Broker Cluj is suspended, the company will lose several thousand euro every day in trading commissions it would have normally obtained. However, the most significant problem is the possibility of losing its employees and more than half its clients, according to the firm’s management.
The brokerage company was hit by a decision last week by the Romanian National Securities Commission (CNVM), which suspended its activity for two weeks, taking the company off the trading floor indefinitely.
Broker Cluj is one of the largest brokerage companies on the market, with over 10,000 clients and 15,000 shareholders. Last year, the company ranked ninth among top brokers on the Stock Exchange, with total transactions worth €175.1 million.
