Brokers are expecting a quiet week on the stock market
Trading volumes are too low to signal a revival of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), according to brokers. “Trading volumes are low, and volumes accumulated in the first four days of this month are even lower than the same period last month. The average daily volume is two thirds of that of last month’s. If we consider international market information the news is highly uncertain,” the President of brokerage company Intercapital Invest, Razvan Pasol, said.

Last Friday, quotations rose on BVB, especially on the financial investment company (SIF) segment. The BET-FI index, which monitors SIF performance, was up 2 percent in last week’s final trading session. Brokers say this evolution is natural, since the SIFs registered significant losses last month. “That decline is now being recovered,” said the General Manager of BT Securities brokerage company, Rares Nilas.
