"We are waiting for several confirmations to know if it was a trend comeback or a temporary rise. The market is too much connected to what is happening on foreign markets and increases could slow down if concerns persist on foreign markets. The stock market has been subject to a crisis this year which is not over yet," said Daniel Pocorea, Deputy General Manager of BRD Securities, part of the BRD group, Romania's second-largest lender in terms of assets.
Financial investment companies (SIF) gained 5.4 percent in the past two sessions, after increasing by 3.52 percent yesterday. SIF Moldova surged by 5.17 percent on the back of €2.1 million worth of transactions. The most traded issuer was SIF Oltenia, which rose by 3.24 percent, due to €2.87 mln worth of transactions.
Brokers believe that Romanians were major investors in the past two sessions. The BET-FI index appreciated by 3.52 percent, while the BET index rose 1.35 percent.
Yesterday's largest increase, of 14.68 percent, was registered by the shares of the Artrom Slatina mechanical tube producer, which posted an overall 208.64 percent increase compared to the beginning of the year.
