Brokers expect the market to be highly volatile, the same as last week. All Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) indexes registered significant depreciation last week, from 4.7 percent to 5.65 percent, even though stocks traded in Bucharest are not directly impacted by the international financial crisis.
“The Romanian market was marked by a negative trend and high volatility. I think this period is not yet over. The local market is influenced by both the external background and local events,” said the President and General Manager of Intercapital Invest brokerage company, Razvan Pasol.
“Given the United States closed upward, with 1.5 percent, something similar could happen in Romania,” according to the General Manager of brokerage company BT Securities, Rares Nilas.
