Transactions on the main Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) market totaled €18.3 million, while deals on the electronic Rasdaq market amounted to €2.2 mln.
“On our market, all that is needed is for major foreign institutional investors to be inactive. They do not even have to sell, and the negative global trend becomes more accentuated,” said the Investment Manager of Raiffeisen Asset Management, Bogdan Bilaus. He explained that such investors consider macroeconomic indicators, which are not currently positive for Romania. With large foreign investors inactive, deals on BVB are made by small local investors, who are highly influenced by events on foreign stock exchanges. In the past few days, capital markets worldwide have registered downward trends.
