Brokers say Erste listing will not have significant impact on BVB

"The Austrian Bank's listing on BVB will not bring important evolutions for BVB or Erste Bank. Things would have been different if we had large investment funds, but, in this case things will not change significantly. On the long term, however, the listing on BVB can have a positive impact on Erste," ING Romania's Capital Markets Director, Florin Ilie, said.

Erste is already listed on the stock markets in Vienna and Prague. The lender's market capitalization was worth €11.4 billion yesterday.

"Erste Bank decided to ask for a BVB listing to allow BCR employees, who already own shares, to trade them without undergoing supplementary proceedings needed usually for owning shares listed outside Romania," according to an Erste Bank release.
