The value of total deals is 34 percent higher year-on-year. “Romania registered this investment level in spite of a significant drop in yield on certain real estate segments,” CBRE-Eurisko’s Head of Capital Markets, Alexandra Dimofte, said.
In Bucharest, the value of real estate deals increased 50 percent compared to the first half of 2007, according to Atisreal’s market report.
The survey shows that, in spite of a decline in the number of deals, the value per deal registered a significant increase. The major deals that made up 80 percent of the total value were the acquisition of the Upground project by RREEF real estate investment company, and the Iris Shopping Center by Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Immobilienfonds (DEGI).
Besides mixed projects, offices and residential areas made up a small ratio of total deals. According to Atisreal, transactions on the office market amounted to €36 million, similar to residential market deals. The commercial areas segment registered deals totaling €185 million.
