Bucharest Stock Exchange closes the day with losses while European stocks rise

Today’s deals totaled 18 million lei, down 18 percent against the last trading session.

The BET index measuring the market’s ten top performers tumbled 0.83 percent closing at 7,076.82.

The BET-C composite index assessing all listed shares minus investment funds lost 0.64 percent to 4,930.26.

The BET-FI index tracking the five investment funds known as SIFs plummeted 1.88 percent to 56,551.14. The ROTX index for trading blue-chips in Vienna dropped 0.96 percent to 15,573.35.

SIF Banat-Crisana shares dipped 2.27 percent to 2.58 lei per share. The shares of SIF Oltenia tumbled 1.82 percent, to 3.24 lei per share.

Banca Transilvania, Romania's fifth lender by assets, saw its shares plunging 2.07 percent, to 0.71 lei. BRD SocGen, Romania’s second largest lender by assets, witnessed its shares dive 0.57 percent, to 17.50 lei.

Electricity transporter Transelectrica closed at 26.50 lei, after a 0.76 percent decrease, while gas operator Transgaz Medias lost 4.45 percent to 231.70 lei.
