Bucharest Stock Exchange rises at closing bell on investors’ optimism

The BET-C composite index, measuring the evolution of all listed stocks minus investment funds, gained 1.17 percent to 6,927.31 points, while the BET index, assessing the market's ten top performers, advanced 0.95 percent to 10,003.41 points.The ROTX index, which measures Romanian blue chips for trading in Vienna, increased 1.07 percent to 22,329.50 points. Trading accounted for 56.124 million lei (17.56 million euros), 20.8 percent more than yesterday’s trading.

The BET-FI index, measuring the five investment funds known as SIFs, rose 0.31 percent to 84,810.39 points. SIFs trading accounted for 21.88 million lei, almost 39 percent of the total liquidity on the main market.The most actively traded investment fund was SIF Oltenia (SIF5) on trading of more than 6.98 million lei, followed by SIF Moldova (SIF2) on trading of 6.13 million lei. SIF2 shares gained 2.24 percent to 3.65 lei, while SIF5 shares climbed 3.71 percent to 4.47 lei.

Banca Transilvania (TLV) shares rose 0.55 percent to 0.915 lei, as trading accounted for 2.26 million lei, while BRD-SocGen, the country's second largest bank by assets, saw shares advance 0.75 percent to 27.00 lei, as liquidity stood at more than 3.69 million lei.

Petrom shares (SNP) soared 2.83 percent to 0.545 lei, as trading was of more than 1.4 million lei. Oil refinery Rompetrol Rafinare Constanta (RCC) remained unchanged at 0.101 lei, on trading of more than 1.3 million lei.

The shares of oil and gas pipes producer Condmag Brasov (COMI) were the most traded, increasing 6.36 percent to 2.34 lei per share, following transactions of about 7 million lei.
