Buongiorno: new Italian restaurant in Bucharest

"Development plans for the Buongiorno chain include the opening of ten restaurants in Bucharest in the coming three years, following investments worth €4 million," said Dragos Petrescu, owner of Trotter Prim. He added that the restaurants will target the medium-premium segment, with clients whose monthly income exceeds €500.

The Buongiorno restaurant opened yesterday is located in the historical Lascar Catargiu building, rented for the next ten years, and replacing the Casa di David restaurant. Total capacity is 470 places, 350 in the restaurant and 120 in the coffee house.

The average investment to open a Buongiorno restaurant is €200,000-400,000. Some €100,000 will be invested in the promotion campaign of the new brand by the end of February 2008. City Grill's competitors in Bucharest are the La Mama restaurant chain, Trattoria Il Calcio, and Ruby Tuesday, while City Cafe's competitors include Turabo Cafe, Gloria Jean's, and Centro.
