The hotel posted turnover worth some €10.2 million last year, up 5 percent year-on-year, while profit in 2007 was 13 percent higher than in 2006.
“A very active and dynamic business market, especially the individual client segment, and respectively business people, as well as major events, such as conferences, congresses, and the NATO summit, are some of the factors that will contribute to the increase of business this year,” said the hotel’s Marketing Manager, Mioara Gheorghe.
Investments in 2007 centered on the renovation and expansion of kitchens, worth some €2 mln.
“In 2008 we will continue to improve the product, executive rooms and apartments, meeting rooms, stages that are part of the hotel’s five-year renovation, modernization and expansion plan,” added Crowne Plaza’s representative.
The unit enjoyed a 70.9 percent occupancy rate in 2007, and hotel officials are expecting this year’s occupancy to reach some 70.7 percent.
Other hotels are planning to open in Bucharest, increasing competition.
“There is no doubt that competition is in the best interest of the client, who will have more tempting options. This is also in the interest of every hotel, which obligates itself to meet standards and provide the most attractive services and fees,” added Mioara Gheorghe.
