Friday’s stock exchange liquidity level was very similar to that on Thursday, even excluding the RON 22.93 million (€7 mln) special transaction of a 1.1 percent Rompetrol Rafinare oil company share package.
BVB's main market registered transactions worth RON 67.5 mln (€19.7 mln) on Friday and €12.9 mln on Thursday. "Last week was not quite apathetic. Especially Thursday, when a sort of dialog took place between dominant sellers and buyers. Unlike other days, buyers took sales orders fast. And Friday, in the last part of the session, something similar happened. I feel we are getting close to hitting rock bottom," said Octavian Molnar, General Manager of the IFB Finwest brokerage company.
Molnar is suggesting a possible turnaround in terms of the downward trend of quotations. He added that next week depends on what will happen on Monday and Tuesday, and "we can look to the behavior of the financial investment companies (SIF) for guidance." These companies invest in the market and if other investors anticipate good market evolutions, they will initially buy SIF shares, as these are the most liquid. If the SIFs evolve positively, one can forecast that the other companies will be subject to good evolution as well, added Molnar.
Buyers are increasingly active on the stock exchange
