The first mid-year financial results of companies listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) will be published this week, but brokers do not expect that these will strongly impact quotations.
“Considering that some global markets have registered new peaks, I believe our trend will be similar. Theoretically, there would be room for appreciations in the near future. Nevertheless, we must not get our hopes up, as we will remain on a bear market for the medium term, while mid-year data of issuers will not have the power to change the market trend,” the Deputy General Manager of the Intercapital Invest brokerage firm, Adrian Lupsan, said.
Banca Transilvania shares had the best evolution in the past five sessions, climbing 20 percent, while another lender, BRD Groupe Societe Generale, ranks second, with a 13.3 percent growth rate. Even if financial investment companies (SIF) no longer registered the highest returns, as in the past few months, they gained 9.3 percent, with SIF Moldova posting the best performance.
Market liquidity has also registered an upward trend over the past week, as the average daily value of share transactions on the spot market was slightly above €4 million, compared to €1.5 mln two weeks ago.
