Following a winning bid, Cable Direct will manage the advertising space of Turner channels broadcast in Romania. Cable Direct competed against Splendid Media and ARBOmedia.
Cable Direct recently lost one of the most important accounts in its portfolio, Discovery Channel, which included Animal Planet, Discovery Science, and Discovery Civilisation. As of January 2008, Discovery networks will have an internal sales department for Romania, managed by Vlad Tudosie, who recently resigned from his management position at Cable Direct.
Cable Direct also manages the accounts of HBO, AXN, AXN Sci-Fi, and AXN Crime, as well as the 7 Plus daily, the Movieplex and Glendale cinema networks, and several websites.
