Call center wages start at €300
"Most requests for specialized staff are currently coming from call center companies. They are expanding in Romania and looking for sophisticated, specializing individuals fluent in three foreign languages and with relevant experience in the technical field," said Stephen Moroz, Country Manager of Hudson Romania. He added that people having these qualifications and willing to accept the working conditions in a call center, are becoming increasingly harder to find.

Income in this field has risen considerably in the past few years, so lowest wages start at €300, and increase based on responsibilities.

"In spite of the salary rises and recruitment difficulties, the Romanian market is still attractive because of the quality of the human capital," said Roberto Montandon, General Manager of the XL World, which is operating three call centers on the Romanian market. He added that it is difficult to find people in other countries who speak not only English, but also French, Italian or German, and that it is very easy for young Romanians to learn foreign languages. The company invests in three-month training programs to teach less common languages.
