“The rise in percentage will be the highest in the area of specialists and top managers, an area covered mainly by expats. However, in terms of living standards, engineers [salaries] will be subject to the highest growth rate,” according to a Senior Consultant of Barnett McCall Tech, Ariel Ungureanu.
After reaching 70 percent of the EU average, “we can no longer be efficient and attractive enough for foreign investors. This means that some industries have a higher growth potential than ones known as “first rank.” Thus, construction will experience a lower growth rate than the auto sector, or the steel and electricity industries,” Ungureanu added.
The auto industry is already facing a personnel deficit, leading to a rise in wages of 30 percent, according to Pluri Consultants HR company’s Managing Partner, Madalina Popescu. Salaries will keep growing until they reach regional levels, said Madalina Popescu.
