Mihai Rohan, General Manager of Carpatcement Holding, said that the cement market is up to 10 million tons in 2007, and that cement imports will increase 3-5 times this year.

Carpatcement will begin a €150 million investment program this year to double its cement production capacity by 2011. The company is also analyzing the possibility of building a greenfield factory. Carpatcement currently has a total yearly production capacity from its 3 factories in Romania of 3.5 million tons.
