The French hypermarket chain Carrefour is negotiating the acquisition of a field in Targu-Mures from furniture manufacturer Mobexpert, controlled by businessman Dan Sucu, sources on the local real estate market told Business Standard. According to these sources, several investors might be interested in the Mobexpert land.
The experts have further indicated that the market value of Mobexpert’s land is somewhere between €12-22 million, on the basis of a €150-300 per square meter price tag. Sucu announced last week that he would relocate the four factories in Targu-Mures to an industrial park 15 km outside the city, as part of a Mobexpert efficiency strategy.
Relocation expenses will amount to €28 million and the process will be finalized in one year.
“We regularly negotiate with Carrefour about many business issues; it is too early to speak about the land in Targu-Mures,” Sucu told Business Standard. On the other hand, Andreea Mihai, Marketing Manager at Carrefour said these types of rumors cannot be officially confirmed by Carrefour before the signing of a contract. “Theoretically we are interested in all cities and all pieces of land throughout the country which match Carrefour’s needs,” she added.
