The funds will be used to build an amusement park in the southern city of Braila, including two five-star hotels, each with some 40 rooms.

The park will cover 36 hectares, Caruz told Business Standard. “We plan to open at least one of the hotels next year, and the other one in early 2010, at the latest,” he added. A restaurant with a 350 seating capacity has already been constructed on the land. The location will also include a 100-seat pub, a terrace-restaurant, soccer and tennis courts and a skating rink.

The Caruz group further plans to open a five-story foodstuff store in the city of Braila, following an investment worth several million euro. The group’s total investment budget for this year is €10 million, although this figure can be revised if “the investments cannot be supported,” according to Caruz.

The group operates on several segments - pig farms, meat and meat product processing and retail, soft drink distribution, and grain imports.
