CEZ interested in production projects in Romania

Roman said that the company is "interested in any project which is economic and viable", adding that "once we see such a project in a country, we can spend our entire budget in that country, but it all depends on how good the projects are."

CEZ's CEO said that theoretically, the company is still interested in the privatization of Romanian electricity distributors, currently state-owned, but he mentioned that listing the state's shares in these companies on the stock exchange will bring less money than their sale to strategic partners.

The company's representative is not only looking to expand on the Romanian market, but also intends to take the company he is now managing to sixth place among top ten European energy companies in the coming four years, according to number of clients and market value.

In the four years since Martin Roman has served as CEO of CEZ, the value of the company's shares has increased tenfold, to €52 from €5.4, and the electricity exporter presently has a €30.22 bln market value.
