Changes in InterContinental management

Rotariu Bergeron has been working for seven years in the hotel sales field. She has an MBA in Marketing and a Master’s Degree in foreign languages.

Company representatives attribute the management changes to the fact that many expatriates are part of the hotel’s leadership and their contracts expire in two or three years. “Management changes were due to the management contract with the [InterContinental Hotels Group] IHG chain. [Current General Manager] Jonathan Soper has been working for 35 years with InterContinental,” the hotel's PR&Marketing Manager, Dana Chiriac said.

Some 1,500-2,000 people are working on the local five-star hotel market. According to specialists in the industry, annual personnel turnover amounts to 30%.

Eight five-star hotels are operating in Bucharest: Radisson SAS, JW Marriott, Athenee Palace Hilton, InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Howard Johnson, Casa Capsa, and Carol Parc.
