The company’s General Manager, Tudor Furir, said the demand for Chivas Regal super-premium is very high, because Romania has increasingly more luxury brand consumers.

The luxury drink market makes up some 4-5 percent of the total drinks market, and is worth some €70-80 million, according to players on the market. However, this market share is a mere half of that of Hungary.

For next year, companies in the field expect a 30-40 percent increase on the imported drinks market, due to investments in promotion and the launching of new products.

Pernod Ricard, second-largest producer of drinks worldwide and European leader, has a portfolio including renowned brands such as Ricard, Ballantine’s, Chivas Regal, Malibu, Beefeater, Havana Club, Stolichnaya, Jameson, Martell, and The Glenlivet.

Its main competitors locally are Heinrig, Crisalex, Sollers and BDG.
