The Romanian factoring market could reach some €1.8 billion in 2008, due to high growth potential. The medium-term growth rate is 40 percent per year. The main players are BRD, Raiffeisen, BCR, Compania de Factoring and IFN Sterling.
Meanwhile, Coface Romania increased estimates regarding gross subscribed primes volumes for this year, from €2.5 million to €2.8 million and estimates double turnover in 2009. The company estimates €6.5 million worth of business this year. Of the total turnover for 2008, 40 percent is to be made up by commercial loan insurances, 35 percent are debt management and 25 percent are credit reports. Coface subscribed gross primes worth some €2 million in the first eight months of 2008.
