Coface keeps the “A4-“rating granted to Romania on continuous gaps, economic turmoil

Coface Romania in October 2007 lowered Romania’s country rating from “A4” to "A4-" following the decline of the country’s macroeconomic conditions and the political situation.

The agency warned at that time about the risks of an exchange rate crisis. The increase of the private sector’s foreign currency debts creates concerns over the companies' ability to pay them, a previous release had warned.

The rating granted by Coface shows at what scale the solvability of the companies in a country could be affected by the political, financial and economic outlook.
