College graduates risk unemployment

The next step for young people in terms of their career will become even more difficult, because twice as many graduates (some 250,000) entered the job market this year, due to the decision to reduce the undergraduate period from four to three years.

Well-prepared graduates, those who worked while completing their studies, or who interned with a company are less in danger of becoming unemployed, said the HR specialists.

“Companies will focus on recruiting qualified persons in 2009, especially for senior positions. Romania’s advantage, compared to other countries that provide cheap labor, is that it has qualified persons who speak foreign languages,” said Mihai Moghior, Managing Partner of the Brainspotting recruitment company.
