Compa plans to double business in three years

In 2007, Compa’s growth in turnover was of 24 percent.

The company posted some €2.4 mln in profit, 4.7 percent lower year-on-year, due to an increase in expenditures.

The company is working in partnership with U.S.-based Delphi company, U.S. group Honeywell Garret and Japanese producer Kayo, providing specific car parts.

Compa is to invest some €14 mln this year, a level similar to 2007, to carry out current projects and launch new ones. “We have focused so far on producing parts for export, which makes up some 70-80 percent of the total [production]. We plan to expand our collaboration with [local car manufacturer] Dacia, as the parts we are currently supplying make up very little of our turnover,” said Deac.

The company also plans to become supplier for U.S. car manufacturer Ford, which recently acquired local producer Automobile Craiova from the Romanian state. “We know the fight to become a supplier will be a tough one,” Deac said.
