“To avoid laying off internal recruiters, many companies that halted employment are giving them the opportunity to work in other positions within the organization. Many recruiters in fields affected by the crisis have been subject to this situation since last fall,” according to Daniel Necefor, Managing Partner of the Total Business Solution executive search company.
Many local companies ceased recruiting new employees and are only hiring people for key vacancies.
Cristina Savuica, Managing Partner of Lugera&Makler HR company’s local subsidiary, agrees that many HR specialists within companies have reduced activity, and that some are concerned about their future.
In the midst of this crisis, one of the first measures taken by companies has been to stop employment. Most of the companies which ceased recruiting are in the construction, real estate, auto and financial sectors.
