“This year, we have delivered a ship in the first quarter and will deliver another one in the second quarter,” Rusen said, adding that “we build on average 4-4.5 ships annually.”
The company official indicated that the shipyard, controlled by businessman Gheorghe Bosanceanu, is expected to register a 7-10 percent rise in revenues in 2009, while the company’s turnover is forecast to exceed €200 mln in 2009, up 25 percent year-on-year.
There are eight shipyards operating in Romania, including Daewoo Mangalia Heavy Industries, market leader with some €600 mln in turnover in 2008, Constanta Shipyard, the Korean STX Europe group, and Damen Galati.
