Construction works in Romania up by 31.4% in H1

Construction works hiked 19.2 percent in June from May 2007, INS said. Construction works on nonresidential buildings jumped 35.4 percent. Residential buildings advanced 33.4 percent and engineering constructions jumped 29.2 percent, the release said.

Capital repairs increased 31.6 percent, maintenance works rose 31.8 percent and new constructions went up 31.1 percent.

Construction works in June this year versus June last year increased 28.7 percent in real terms, supported by non residential buildings (30.7 percent), residential buildings (28.6 percent) and engineering constructions (27.9 percent), INS also showed.
