Contract worth €220 mln for A-Tec Industries in Turceni

The Turceni energy plant is the largest thermal power plant in Romania. It covers one third of Romania’s annual electricity consumption, with the Rovinari and Craiova power plants. Turceni estimates income of RON 1.58 billion (€451.42 mln) in 2008, 8 percent higher year-on-year, and a profit of RON 40 mln (€11.42 mln), 57 percent lower than in 2006, due to environmental investments imposed by the European Union in the form of pollution rights.
