Travel agency Accent Travel&Events, one of the top 10 players on the local market, estimates €18.5 million in turnover in 2008, 23 percent higher than in 2007, and €0.95 mln in profit, 0.2 percent higher year-on-year.

Growth will be triggered by new corporate contracts, and higher sales through online platforms for domestic and foreign tourism and ticketing, according to the company’s General Manager, Lucian Boronea, for Business Standard.

Last year, the company posted a 28.2 percent increase in business compared to 2006, due to overall tourism market growth, ticketing, business travel and corporate contracts, including Telecom operator Orange Romania and retailer Carrefour Romania, through a Carrefour Voiaj partnership. Business travel currently makes up 80 percent of the company’s turnover.

The agency’s services portfolio includes advisory for clients, ticketing, domestic and foreign travel packages, and events, including conferences, seminars, and team buildings.

The company’s main competitors are Marshal Turism, Eximtur, Paralela 45, Aerotravel and Happy Tour. The top players registered business totaling €600 mln in 2007.
