Cosmetics and nutritional supplements to boost Amway business
“We will keep increasing our portfolio with several key products and consolidate the market position of our current products,” the company’s Branch Manager, George Popescu, told Business Standard.

The company will focus on cosmetics and nutritional supplements to increase its business.

Amway Romania, the local subsidiary of U.S. giant Alticor, is selling more than 1,000 products, including nutritional supplements, home consumer goods, cosmetics, and perfumes on the local market, by way of the multilevel marketing system. All products are imported from the U.S.

Cosmetic products make up some 20 percent of Amway’s business, while nutritional supplements contribute a further 25 percent to the company’s turnover locally. Amway Romania has some 50,000 distributors countrywide.
Its main competitors on the cosmetic products direct sales segment are Oriflame, Avon and Zepter.

The local cosmetics market was estimated at €700 mln in 2007 and is expected to grow an annual 10 percent by 2010.
