Cosmote Group: 20% of new users in Q3 are subscribers

Cosmote Group, subsidiary of mobile telephony OTE Group, registered revenue in the third quarter of 2007 of €825 million, 39 percent more than the €593.5 mln year-on-year. However, both profitability and gross profit dropped, the latter by 7.7 percent, to €281.8 mln (34.2 percent margin), compared to €248.6 mln in Q3 2006 (41.9 percent margin).

Cosmote Romania’s turnover in Q3 2007 was €41.5 million, with a loss of €8.8 mln, but it surpassed the 3 million user threshold, for a 13 percent market share. In the third quarter, Cosmote Romania registered over 600,000 new clients, of which some 20 percent are subscribers. Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) stagnated at €6. Germanos, sales network for telecommunication products and services, played an important role in the expansion of Cosmote Romania’s subscriber base: a doubling of new users, to 540,000 in Q3 2007 from 240,000 year-on-year.
