Cosmote “unlimited” relaunches competition

One of the offers is that of opting for unlimited calling of three favorite numbers in the operator’s network, in addition to a general total of up to 500 network minutes, for a monthly €7 fee. As such, Cosmote is aligning itself with the two main market competitors, Orange and Vodafone, who both offer subscriptions with minutes included for favorite numbers, but in other combinations.

Cosmote’s offer is the most aggressive, with unlimited calls to one or three favorite numbers anytime, but within the operator’s network. For calls to other networks, the regular fee is applicable.

At present, the most advantageous offer for the entry-level segment belongs to Vodafone, not Cosmote: Vodafone offers a monthly subscription with 30 minutes included, for €3, the same fee Cosmote offers for a mere 10 minutes included. Furthermore, Vodafone offers subscribers a further 10 minutes free for each year in the network, so Cosmote’s new €7 offer for 500 minutes in the network and unlimited calls to three favorite numbers cannot beat Vodafone.

Orange Romania has a monthly subscription for €3, but without minutes included, so is not a competitor on this segment.
