The operator was granted a license allowing it to enter the mobile internet segment, the fastest growing market currently, following a tender organized by the National Agency for Information Technology and Communications (ANRCTI).
Four of the five mobile operators locally - Orange, Vodafone, RCS&RDS and Zapp, appealed the ANRCTI decision in court. The fifth operator, Cosmote Romania, is owned by Romtelecom and Greek operator OTE, who also controls Romtelecom. Each of the five operators already had a license for mobile data. Sources close to the event said the next court session is to be held on September 23.
