“If we sell 40 Cadillacs this year, it will be great. As for Hummer, I think we will deliver no more than 25 units,” Bratu said. He added that, based on orders received so far, the company expects to sell eight Corvettes.

Prices for the three brands start at €28,000 for the cheapest Cadillac, and end at €88,000 for the Corvette.

In April 2008, company officials were estimating to sell 100 Cadillacs, 60 Hummers and 20 Corvettes this year.

However, “the market is presently blocked. This is rather psychological, because nothing serious has happened so far in Romania. The exchange rate has not changed significantly, the desire to own a car is the same but, due to the global crisis, clients are on stand-by. It has been a difficult year,” Bratu said.
