Cristescu brothers interested in raising their participation in Alstom Transport Romania

According to the statement sent yesterday to the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), Faur’s shareholders will discuss the acquisition proposals in next month’s General Shareholder's Meeting. The Cristescus could not be contacted yesterday for details. Asset acquisition, including through BVB, is part of the strategy of the holding which includes Faur.

Marius Cristescu, Chairman of the Board of the Bega group, recently told Business Standard that he is analyzing the opportunity for new acquisitions, both land and businesses, but will await the end of March.

The Bega group drafted its 2009 budget based on a RON 4.5/€1 exchange rate, and according to initial estimates, the group expects a 10-15 percent annual drop in net sales this year, and stagnation of net income. The group’s investment budget remains at the €40 million level registered in 2008, 30 percent of which is directed to the Faur park.

Alstom Transport has a share capital worth RON 28.6 mln, divided into 2.8 million shares with a nominal value of RON 10.
