Dell Romania estimates growth to exceed 60%

The company revised its initial forecast of a 50 percent increase in business due to good sales in the first quarter of 2008. The company sold 25,000 desktop computers, notebooks and servers during January-May, 102 percent higher year-on-year.

“In this period, market growth was over 35 percent. We are pleased with the evolution of sales in the first quarter, as above market growth is in line with our objective,” the company’s Country Manager, Mihai Guran, told Business Standard.

The company targets 11 percent market share in 2008, from 9 percent at the end of 2007. Last year, the company sold 84,000 units, 107 percent higher year-on-year.

Dell Romania’s main competitors are Fujitsu Siemens Computers, Hewlett Packard, Acer, Asus and Lenovo.
