“The increase is due to the development policy and the brand’s presence in shopping centers, which allowed us to open large surface stores. Five of the eight stores opened in 2008 are in strategic locations,” said Dan Rosu, General Manager of Diverta.

Books and office supplies were the best sold items in 2007, each contributing 25 percent to the company’s revenue. The sale of books increased 39 percent year-on-year, while that of office supplies rose 28 percent. Media and IT product sales increased 35 percent and 14 percent, making up 15 percent and 20 percent of total net sales, respectively, in 2007.

Diverta will invest €8 mln in 2008 to open 10 new stores, with an average 700 square meter surface, in shopping centers in cities with over 100,000 inhabitants.

The first Diverta store was opened seven years ago. Diverta stores also offer video and DVD rental services, a copy center, show ticket sales, utility bill payment, and GSM prepaid card recharging.
