DLA Piper, one of the largest law firms worldwide, will take over ten lawyers from the former local office of law firm Linklaters to establish an office in Bucharest. The new office is to be led by Marian Dinu, one of the two local partners of the former Linklaters office.
The information was not confirmed, nor denied, by the two partners, Daniel Tosher and Marian Dinu, who were not available for comment before closing the edition. DLA Piper representatives did not comment on the information either.
However, players on this segment were familiar with the move. Todd Schollenbarger, Managing Partner of White & Case office in Romania, said DLA Piper had been seeking for a way to enter the Romanian market. “There is till room for good international law firms on the local market,” Schollenbarger told Business Standard.
This year, DLA Piper employed two Romanian lawyers from regional law firm Schoenherr. DLA previously worked with local firms, including RTPR and Bulboaca & Asociatii.
