Erste Bank shares depreciated by 4.5 percent to €46.65/share, the lowest price since September 2006. The national currency was quoted at RON 3.5025-3.5060/€ in the first Tuesday morning transactions, after which it rebounded slightly to below the RON 3.50/€ level, reaching RON 3.4890-3.4950 by 11:00 hours, going on to depreciate slightly to the euro.
"The volumes traded on Monday on the currency market were fairly small, with reduced liquidity, although the leu began to depreciate after 18:00 hours, with the trend continuing early Tuesday, following the downgrading for Erste shares due to its presence in Romania,” said Credit Europe Bank Romania analyst, Georgiana Constantinescu, for NewsIn.
